Monsoon-Proof Window Treatments Bangladesh

Which window treatments survive the Bangladesh monsoon?

The window treatments that hold up through a Bangladesh monsoon are the ones that do not absorb water: PVC-backed roller blinds, foam-coated blackout roller fabric, and moisture-treated wooden blinds. Untreated fabric blinds, raw bamboo and uncoated metal are the three materials that fail most often, because absorbed humidity causes sagging, mildew staining, warping and rust.

During monsoon months, humidity in Dhaka regularly sits above 80 per cent for weeks at a time, and windows are opened and closed far more often than in the dry season, so the operating mechanism matters as much as the fabric. From Osmani Home Decor, PVC-backed and foam-coated roller blinds start at ৳105 per square foot and moisture-treated wooden blinds are ৳450 per square foot, both including free measurement and installation.
